What you need to do:

In order to get full credit for the blog, you must use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization. You must discuss any aspect of learning in the classroom. The purpose of this is to think about your learning. It is not to discuss your grades or give a thumbs up or down to what was done in class. Do not restate what was done in class. Fully developed thoughts are expected. You may state if something helped or did not help your learning but you must tell why.

I think that the working definitions will help me to learn the vocab words better, and it's also a break from the typical vocab test where you just match the definition and the word itself. This new way of learning will help me to take the word and hopefully use it it my own daily vocabulary.

The journalistic writing was new to me and I think it is going to be helpful to me. Also the rules I never knew about and that is also something that will help me.

I enjoyed the fact that we were introduced to the new concept of working definitions. This method will be increasingly more effective in helping me remember the word and being able to actually incorporate it into my vocabulary. This will make it so it's not just some vocab word that I'll never use again. From what we were told, I can already tell that Mrs. Beaudin's method of studying is a lot more helpful instead of just playing Pictionary, like last year.

Today I believe was beneficial to all because it allowed everyone to give their share about the topic. This is a positive way for students to converse because instead of having just that one student give all the answers, others are given a chance and a say in the matter. When sharing an event that had happened or was going to happen, the classroom environment started to relax, and everyone began to know each other a slight bit more.

I thought class was interesting today. I say this because we did a variety of things in class. For example we talked about politics and got to hear all the different opinions on what people thought about the topic. Also I thought it was neat to hear everyone's chores and compare them to each other. And for the last thing I liked how we went over the answers for the book test, but also compared it to what we do today in our time. So, I thought class was interesting.

I liked our discussion in class today about the chores of kids then, compared to today's kids chores. The work that the children did back then was probably considered more challenging, and now, we have so much technology to do the work for us, that we take it for granted.

The working definitions was definitely something new. I think it'll be easier to remember the vocab with the working definitions then anything else. I doubt I'll ever use this vocab though.

The book, "A Country Life", is just about the most entertaining book I've read...other than, "Marley & Me", of course. And I am confident I well do well on the vocab. test.

I think that the vocab this week may be a little hard, because have two days to study but hten again it might be easy. I liked class Wednesday.

I really enjoyed everyone being able to participate today in class. There are always a few students that are shy and refrain from speaking unless asked, and those who are always willing to speak up. By making our way around the room and having everyone give an answer for working definitions of vocabulary words, or just having them answer other questions, people could feel more comfortable, get used to talking out loud, and get used to participating on a regular basis. I was a little unsure about working definitions at first and how to use them, but after this class I understood a lot better and I now feel confident about them.

We only had class once this week, but the book that we started on Monday is interesting. I am excited to read about how life was a while ago and how much things have changed. It's also going to be interesting to see what has stayed the same.
