Honestly, I think that doing a senior project that is the choice of the student would be an extremely effective showcase of the culmination of what he or she had learned throughout high school. It could possibly be stressful, but if the student was given fair warning of the project during freshman year or even before, it would be manageable. I've actually found Hamlet is an enjoyable read. I find myself able to understand it more effectively if I sit down and focus on it. But, alas, there's no more vocab. =(

I still think it would be terrible to have a senior project sprung on us now, but if it were stated at the beginning of freshman year that we had one, it might not be so bad. It would be much easier to pace oneself if one had more time with which to do the pacing. If nothing else, that way you only have yourself to blame if you're trying to do it ALL senior year and give yourself a hernia or something. As for Hamlet, I find I follow along and understand it much better when reading at home, so I actually do not mind in the least when we have to do the reading as homework. I don't know why people seem to hate it.

I thought today was boring because we didn't really do anything. I think we should be doing more things other than just sitting and writing.

I liked listening about the other books to see if there was one i would like to read. It gives me an idea what to look for when picking out my next book.

I feel that when we are going over Hamlet we do not need to do the review sheets. I feel it takes away time that we could be reading the play. When I look at the review sheets, it makes it harder for me to understand the main points of the play. I feel a class discussion would work better for us to understand the point of the play, and the dialog that goes along with it.

I think we should have done Hamlet first and acted that it out rather than Taming of the Shrew. I'm finding Hamlet harder to read and comprehend. However, I enjoy Hamlet more. I hope the ending is better than Taming of the Shrew and Shakespeare doesn't forget key points of the play.

If we do the senior project I will not get a good grade because I won't even be able to finish it on time. Also you know how much kids will get angry at this project, how much sleep kids will get. Let alone kids asking if they got enough done today so I can stop today and work on this some more tomorrow. Other than that I don't why we should it would be just to much work.

For once I get to use the computer for an assignment. Getting work done much quicker, and during class too! Too bad nobody was willing to do the essay thing with me.

At first I was skeptical about the book project. But now I think that it was a good idea and am exited to see all the different books that people read and maybe get an idea of the type of book I should read next. There was a lot of books shared that before the presentation I would probably have never picked up before I heard about them.

I feel as though the senior project is a good idea but many students would end up not doing it and fail. It would cause many new problems that we don't have now, which I like because as is, it is stressful being a senior. I am so gla that we do not have any aditional vocab, since I still haven't taken the last vocab's quiz. I think that 300 words are enough to study anyway with the ammount of other classes some of us are taking.
I like that we do the Act review sheets, because it forces me to re-think what happened and all. It seems to be a way for me to really understand what happened, and not just read it and forget.

The part of the class I was in I enjoyed, even though we got told some weird things from some people. I thought we had a good class. I didn't really like my book so the paper we wrote was kind of hard to write.

I enjoyed the peer editing today. It gave us a chance to review and fix our essays for the better. We also had time to study for our vocab. Which was also good.

I'm sad that this class is coming to an end. I like the conversations we have had throughout the year, though some were hard to swallow. I've learned a lot in this class, but one thing I'm sure I will keep with me is the personal discovery of how much I dislike Shakespeare. Over the years, I have struggled to place a word on how I feel about the man's writing, thinking his style and archaic vocabulary may have been the only reason I disliked it. However, through reading and, for once, fully understanding his material, I can now firmly say that, for the most part, Shakespeare's writing has little for me to enjoy. Though this discovery will make my reading his work a waste of my time in the future, I'm glad to have finally been taught some of the material in a way I can understand it.

I think a senior project could be a good idea if we knew about it as freshmen. It is a good way to showcase what we have learned throughout high school. I am finding Hamlet harder to read than Taming of the Shrew. It could be because we are rushing to finish it within the semester. I do think going over the worksheets help understand the acts a little more.

Since there was no January 12 listed, I am blogging on yesterday's blog about today. The peer editing went over quite well. I enjoyed reading other people's essays and getting their views on movies and books. I experienced another person's writing style and got to see the movie and book through their eyes. Also on my paper I was given great feedback on what to do to improve my essay and was shown some small errors I had made. I hope to be able to do this again soon.

I strongly agree with what John has to say about the Senior Project. If we had a Senior Project and had known about it since our freshman year, I don't think it would of been much of an issue to get it done it time. Moving on to Hamlet, I have been enjoying the reading for the most part. I get to be the crazy Hamlet himself! I wish we had more time in class to read this together.

I agree with most of my classmates that a senior project is a silly idea because seniors have enough to do already. I, also, think that for application purposes a student who does their own project, such as extra-curricular work or community service will stand out even more because they are doing this not because they have to, to graduate. The review worksheets aren't exciting right now, but I know they will be helpful in the end. It is easier to read Hamlet in class, than out of class.

I just realized this will be the last time I blog! This makes me sad, even though I can't get anymore zeros for not blogging. I hate Hamlet, I don't understand a word of it and it frustrates me. Overall I've enjoyed this class, we've had many laughs. I'm terrified for the vocabulary part of the final, because I know none of it.

I would have rathered work on the review sheet at home and read in class. Also, if we acted this out, it would have been more fun. I will miss this class ridiculously and it was a great way to start senior year.

In class I enjoyed the book reviews. I also think I did good on the vocab test I missed.
