What you need to do:
In order to get full credit for the blog, you must use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization. You must discuss any aspect of learning in the classroom. The purpose of this is to think about your learning. It is not to discuss your grades or give a thumbs up or down to what was done in class. Do not restate what was done in class. Fully developed thoughts are expected. You may state if something helped or did not help your learning but you must tell why.

Modernizing the scene helped me understand and enjoy the play more. Just reading Shakespearean language and odd British humor tends to make it harder to comprehend. Perhaps next time we can be more organized about the renactment so more information can be taken from it. Making it humorous was a help though.
Today I liked the activity we did with our vocab words. I thought it was very helpful. I thought this because you gave us two words to give working defintions with and then we got to study our words. And next you gave us a little quiz. So, I thought it was helpful because now I already know most of the defintions because of the examples and the test. So, I thought it was helpful.

I should be reading East of Eden instead of blogging if I am going to come close to finishing the book before Hunter. I don't know how to discuss the books without giving some of what happens away to others who want to read it. But I know that I get frustrated when others spoil a good book that I am reading. The Taming of the Shrew has been easy to understand for the most part because I read it in Mrs. Tylers film class. The modernized acting of act one was entertaining and I think we can only improve here on out. I think that acting it out is a great way to help us understand what we have read.
I like the activity we did with our vocab words. I think it is helpful, it helped me understand the words more, and when we take the test I can think of the working definitions. I think that it helped most, if not all of the class.
Alright, I don't really have too much to say about the changing of the political system. I mean, I guess that the two parties work fine enough when they actually get work done.
I like doing the reading journals. It makes people actually read (although I read every day without you checking the journals :D ) and it gives me a chance to show that I actually have been reading. It's hard to me to communicate with words what is going on in 1984, well in any book in general as well. When I'm writing my journal, I get the chance to focus on the questions that pop into my head that I would have otherwise forgotten. Typically when I am reading I will think of a question, but not remember that question during our discussions. Writing down the questions help me remember them and serve as a reminder of what happened in the part that I read.
I did not like doing the modernized rewind of Act 1. I understand that the intentions behind making us do it where good, but that did not make me like it any more. I wish I had had more notice about doing it because I don't like just getting up in front of people and talking. It was extremely chaotic and maybe next time we will know what to do, but this time it was a completely failure.
Taming of the Shrew is my favorite play that Shakespear wrote. I am enjoying reading it in class and am learning different things that I didn’t learn when I read the play my sophomore year. Also I think reenacting it really helped other people understand his language and it was fun as well.

I liked how today in class we did that game/activity we did with our vocab words, and who we would want to switch lives with writing assignment. What I don't understand why you're giving us a choice to participate in the "Poetry Out Loud" speaking, because I'm not quite sure how many people will actually participate in it in our class.

I like how we got to pick are own ideas for are vocab test. The examples should give us an idea on what we should look for on the second part of are test. It is a better way to study for the vocab test so we have a better chance of passing.
Today on December 15, 2011 in class we worked on our vocabulary words. I like that because we have extra time to work on them. We haven't done them every week like you say though. I also like doing the "Poetry Out Loud" because I think it is good thing to memorize these poems. I also think it would be a good thing for everyone to have to say it in front of the school so they can get over the fear of speaking in front of people. Doing the writing in the beginning of class because I think it is a good way to start the class with a disscussion.
I no wish I had switched places with Justin Bieber instead of green day. To see what it's like to be in his shoes and sing like a girl and be loved by girls...it would have been a dream come true.
I think the vocab was much more effective and I learned better from my mistakes.
Although the poetry seemed easy at first, it is no where near that; for there are flaws in my learning abilities, and I worry how i will learn the poem.
I forgot to read but I am going to from now on.
When we did that vocabulary contest was quite fun. I enjoyed how it tested our vocabulary before the test and I hope that we can do it more often. I was also ecstatic that I won!

I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying Taming of the Shrew- it's refreshing to have something light and humorous in class while still actually doing work. I've never had a problem understanding Shakespeare, but I can see where the reenactment would be helpful to others- and if all else fails, it was a riot. Shakespeare must be rolling in his grave. Of course, he probably had a similar reaction to Romeo+Juliet.
In class on Dec 14 we got to test our vocab skills for this week and I think we should that do more often because it helps plant the words in your mind. In class we also got to work on memorizing our poems witch I think I am going to nail it on Tuesday.
I felt that when we redid the play in our own words helped me better understand what had happened. When we read the play it was not always clear to me what was happening. I feel that if we spent time doing this in each act of the play we will have a better understanding of the play, and a better understanding of the writing style.
The contest we had with the vocab words really helps me remember what each word means. Putting the words in working definitions makes it easier to remember for the test. All the activities we do with our vocab words are great, and I find they help a lot.
Doing the vocabulary words like we did today helped me a lot better then just memorizing them for a test, it actually stuck with me and it's something I could learn easier by. The poems might be a little tricky, but I'm glad that you're giving us a lot of time in class to help work on them, and that you can go over it with us.
I enjoyed making our pseudonyms. That was fun. I think we should do things like that more often. I am really liking reading the book I picked out. I am getting into each day.

I loved modernizing the play, although I think that if we were given a heads up and a little more time to come up with a way to do it, it would have been funnier and better, but it was still good. I feel like I have a better idea what the humor in it is, where it is more difficult to take it in from the old english writing. It definitly makes it more enjoyable, too. I would like to do that again!
